Up for sale is a Used Scherl & Roth 14” Viola – Copy of Antonius Stradivarius
Used as is condition.
We are selling this as a complete outfit that includes a plastic shell case and Glasser horsehair bow.
This viola is in playing condition but it has a 6” crack on the face…please refer to the photos.
The proper but expensive way to repair this crack would be to remove the top and glue several bow-tie splits to hold the cracked area together.
In addition to the crack, body shows scratches and nicks throughout.
The cheapest way if you are not concerned about appearance is to neatly squeeze some glue in the cracks to seal and prevent vibration.
The string sizing chart for 14” viola shows students with a 23 ¼” to 24 ¾” armpit to fingertip reach.
