Description
A white porcelain butter pat by GDA France with the CH Field Limoges decorator's mark. Made in Limoges, France. Painted with nasturtiums in pink and yellow and green and gray foliage. An embossed, scalloped, gold-brushed rim. Gorgeous. The green GDA backstamp was used 1900 to 1941 but style of pat places this towards 1900. GDA stands for Gerard, Dufraisseix, and Abbot. Measures approx. 3 3/8" in diameter. No cracks. There is a previously repaired chip (see photos) that measures 1/8" long x 1/16" wide on the rim. Otherwise only minor wear shows. The attention to detail on Limoges porcelain always astonishes me.I search garage sales, estate sales, auctions, and thrift stores for most of the items I list for sale.
Photographs are part of the description. There may be reflections in photos of shiny, glossy, glass items and also shadows in some due to shifts in natural light or a lack of natural light.
Artificial light can cast an amber/yellow glow upon items, esp linens.
Vintage items generally show age and some wear and I do my best to make note of any condition issues.
