Pulled from an 1880 dated brick building, this 19th century hand-hewn beam is an authentic handmade creation from our architectural craftsmen ancestors of the golden years!
The beam you see pictured measures 8” x 12” x 58” long and made from solid poplar wood. It is early primitive woodwork that was painstakingly handcrafted with simple hand tools. A piece of Americana History at its finest!
As time goes by, these historical masterpieces are becoming harder and harder to find. We have labored extensively to save as much as we can of this old building to list for sale for reuse. At over 140 years of age, these pieces are still extremely strong and durable.
To get a sense of the historical significance of these beams, they were at least 100 years old before they were harvested from the forests pre-1880. These beams were newborn saplings during the founding of our country in 1776. Imagine all that these trees have seen and withstood over the years.
