Antique Haviland & Co Limoges France Butter Pat Pink Floral

Description

A white porcelain butter pat by Haviland & Company Limoges, France. Painted with pale pink flowers, pale green leaves and stems and a bright blue hummingbird (?) approaching a flower. Scalloped and embossed rim with gold-brushed sections. Green stamp H & Co L France" used from 1888 to 1896 and red "Haviland & Co Limoges" stamp used 1889 to 1931, allowing us to date this from 1889 to 1896. Very minor wear overall, but one tiny chip on backside by rim (see photo) also a manufacturer's speck under the glaze (see photos). Measures approx. 2 7/8" in diameter. Pretty, elegant, and refined.
Came out of a large collection of butter pats in mid-Michigan. I will be listing over 30 butter pats, please stay tuned.
