This listing is for a set of two hardwood millinery hat blocks that make a classic cloche hat with a small "pillow" brim - all handmade and custom carved by the LaMode Hat Block Company which has retired from the hat block-making business for many years now.
Head-size
- Fits a head size
22 ½”
The
crown block
is a 1-piece custom carved hardwood block –
oval shape
with a curved tip (top) that measures about 3” high around the sides. (See pictures)
The
brim block
is a
5-piece puzzle block
, custom carved with a
pillow brim
so the brim folds back to the inside of the hat forming a “rolled” and more finished edge vs. the turned and stitched edge as seen in most hats. The brim measures about 1” wide and comes with string grooves for easy blocking. (See sample hat in pictures).
The set also comes with
2 wood pegs
that hold the crown and brim blocks in place while blocking.
Condition:
These blocks were made together to make the small brim cloche hat as shown in the picture.
The blocks are in excellent, like new condition showing little to no use. There are no chips, cracks, dings or other issues – no pin marks.
